Lyndie Vantine
Painter & Mixed Media Artist
Every artist who approaches the genre of landscape trods a well-worn path of traditional regional motifs and solutions by hundreds artists who created before her. It is a challenging path that can succeed when attempts rise above the predictable and noisy clamor of such a convention.
Each of Lyndie Vantine's paintings is about a journey to that goal. By creating landscapes that exist somewhere between the illustrative and the sculptural, she is pushing headlong into an overexposed genre in an attempt to discover something new. She takes inspiration from many regional traditions. These works are her exploration to find what might still be new in a genus with a long tradition.
